Travel agencies have been preparing (and especially adapting) to return, in strength, to the market in 2021.
In the meantime, some agencies have already decided to do their own “market studies” with their target audience, to evaluate what will really be important for people who want to travel next year.
In addition to responding that they want to travel further to nature destinations, travellers have expressed concerns in the booking process.
As a result, they have mostly expressed the following concerns:
- Trip cancellation
- Sudden closure of borders
- Quality of health services at destination
- Closure of activities/attractions
- Unforeseen events that significantly affect travel plans
To meet the new needs of its customers, the agencies have been adapting their reservation and cancellation policies for the year 2021.
Thus, many have already opted for “Book Now, Travel Later“. Meaning that, if you make a reservation within a certain period of time, you can cancel or modify the reservation free of charge, for any other date until 2022.
Another measure adopted by many agencies is the decrease in the amount of the deposit. In some, the deposit is as low as one (1) Euro, while others have simply eliminated it. That is, you can make reservations without any cost!
Some are offering the Travel Insurance to their customers throughout the year 2021.
The possibilities are endless and the agencies work according to their clients and destinations. So if you plan to travel next year, inform yourself with your agency by asking about the new booking and cancellation policies for 2021.
The uncertain times we live in have also awakened the need for people to re-hire a travel agent. That is, having someone during the trip (physically) or over the phone, who supports us during a situation that is not in our control, has gained a new importance.
