Today, the   Pilgrims Credential  is a booklet with 16 accordion-style pages, where you colletc stamps.

However, Pilgrim's Credential, has more benefits, than just identify you as a Pilgrim.

Meaning, with it you can grant access to the Camino de Santiago public hostels and the Pilgrim’s Menu at participating restaurants. At the end, it also allows you to receive the Compostela.

Therefore, the Compostela certificate acknowledges that the journey was completed for spiritual or religious reasons. It’s awarded only to pilgrims who complete the last 100 kilometers on foot or horseback, or 200 kilometers by bike.

Since 2014, pilgrims can also request a distance certificate (for a fee of 3 Euros) indicating their Camino starting point.
